Juice & Coffee Shop Manager at The Mixing Jug, Marlow, Buckinghamshire
Position Overview: The Mixing Jug, a vibrant juice and coffee shop located in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, is seeking a skilled and experienced Juice & Coffee Shop Manager.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the shop's operations, ensuring excellent customer service, managing a team, and driving business growth. They will have a passion for delivering high-quality beverages, a keen eye for detail, and a strong understanding of the food and beverage industry.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of The Mixing Jug, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and quality control.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food handling guidelines, and cleanliness standards.
- Manage the shop's equipment and maintenance needs, coordinating repairs and maintenance as required.
- Uphold a customer-centric approach, ensuring exceptional service and a positive experience for all guests.
- Train and guide the Team in providing friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable service to customers.
- Address customer concerns, feedback, and complaints promptly and effectively.
- Recruit, hire, and train a team of talented and motivated Team members.
- Create employee schedules, assign tasks, and monitor performance to optimise efficiency.
- Foster a positive work environment, encouraging teamwork, communication, and professional growth.
Menu Development and Product Knowledge:
- Collaborate with the owners to develop and update the menu, introducing new beverages, ingredients, and seasonal specials.
- Train the Team on product knowledge, including the preparation methods, ingredients, and allergen information.
- Monitor and manage the shop's financial performance, including sales, costs, and profitability.
- Develop and implement strategies to drive sales, increase average transaction value, and manage expenses.
- Conduct regular inventory checks, maintain accurate records, and ensure appropriate stock levels.
- Proven experience (2+ years) in a managerial role within a coffee shop, juice bar, or similar food and beverage establishment.
- Demonstrated success in achieving business targets, managing staff, and delivering exceptional customer service.
- In-depth knowledge of coffee brewing methods, including espresso-based beverages and latte art.
- Familiarity with juice preparation techniques, ingredient combinations, and health benefits.
- Understanding of flavor profiles, extraction parameters, and equipment maintenance.
- Strong leadership abilities, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers, team, and suppliers effectively.
- Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in financial management, including budgeting, cost control, and inventory management.
- Analytical mindset to evaluate sales data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
- Marketing knowledge to contribute to promotional activities and implement effective sales strategies.
- Certification or training in hospitality or food and beverage management is preferred.
